Postcard Project

For this project I have decided to use different types of facial expressions to express the different qualities of words using collage, montage, and patterns to communicate their meanings. I will either find pictures and make them my own, or take the pictures myself. For example, for the word "gear" I would have a side shot of a person who seems to be thinking really hard. I would have a collage of different types of gears and gadgets in the the person's head representing the brain thinking.

Every company needs em...

SO....every company needs the basics....I created business card for Bob & Sue so they could advertise cider shoppe. To make their company a little more professional I created a letterhead for Simply Sider. I also thought a gift card would be a nice touch for their company.

Simply Sider!!! mmmmm....

Coming up with a company wasn't a problem for me seeing how I was hungry when I was working on this...haha. My imaginary clients (Bob & Sue) own an apple farm and wanted to open up a cider shoppe!! They picked different things out of a few of my variations I presented them....so when I created the logo I decided to combine everything they liked. In the end I decided to turn my apple into a mug full of steamy cider!! mmmmm :)

How ya like them apples???

My next step was to create a sketch of my apple using Illustrator!! This took FOREVERRR!!! But it turned out pretty good if I do say so myself! :) To give my apple a different feel and look I decided to make it look painterly! Then gave it a graphic look by making it look "boxy." I had a lot of fun creating the playful version...I originally had a worm coming out of my apple.
I ended up keeping it simple and using the apple with a bite taken out of it. The sophisticated version was a little difficult for me to create. I decided to make it a little abstract. My final piece is below...

Getting started!!

As you can see the object I chose for this project was an apple! I drew it several different times from different angles and the one I chose to move forward with is shown here....
